From October to May, town may seem quiet, but it is full of winter recreation opportunities! The local snowmobile club grooms and maps over 200 miles of trails, and snowmobiles may be rented at Molas Lake Park. The Town of Silverton maintains a free skating rink and sledding hill in addition to the cheapest ski hill in the West! From May to October, the Silverton and Durango Narrow Gauge Train rolls into town several times each day, a wonderful event for the whole family to see.
